Hawaii Recap

I’m back from Hawaii! What an awesome time it was.

The days lingered in the best of ways as we meandered down to the beach and alternated between lazily reading our books and actively playing with the girls.

The mornings brought on a session with Trainer Graham as he kicked my butt right into running shape. The afternoons consisted of swimming and shade sitting. Followed by the best time of the day, sunset, when we would ritualistically go to a small rocky beach and watch the grand nature show: whales breeched close to shore, clouds formed into animal shapes and the sun let out a green flash as it kissed the horizon.

We did mosey away from the beach from time to time to allow for glorious hikes that got the heart pumping and delicious dinners that got our mouths salivating.

It was a great trip and all the more special to watch the kids bond grow with their loving grandparents.

Now we are back and dealing with the blow known as normal life. I know, poor us.

Yesterday, Josie was leaving the kitchen in a hurry and I asked her where she was headed. She looked at me and simply said, “Hawaii.” Oh, if only it were that easy, kid.
