Kendra’s Faves Around Austin

SXSW is finally here, and that means people from all over are making their way down to Austin, Texas, our hometown! For all of you who are new to this wonderful little town of ours, Kendra has a few personal favorites to add to you to-do list. Read on to hear why she loves each of these Austin classics!

1. Skinny Limits: “By far my favorite smoothie place. It’s my go-to for a great meal when I’m on the run, which I usually am! My regular order? The Dragonfly.”

2. P. Terry’s: “This is an Austin staple, and my boys’ favorite restaurant! If you’re not always a burger gal, like me, try their Chicken Burger. That and a side of their delicious fries are enough to make any day better!”

3. Goorin Bros. Hat Company: “If you’re looking for a great local shop and some incredible new accessories, you have to stop by Goorin! They helped me pick out my new favorite black hat, just in time for SXSW festival fashion.”

4. Elizabeth Street Cafe: “The cutest little lunch spot you ever did see. And little known fact…their breakfast is just as incredible! I’m a huge fan of their Chicken Pho. And it’s just a block away from our South Congress store and headquarters, which makes for the perfect afternoon stroll!”

5. Teo: “My husband and I adore this coffee shop. Matt likes to get the iced coffee, and I cannot start my day without one of their lattes. They also have a fabulous gelato bar, perfect for a little afternoon treat with my boys!”

6. Hey Cupcake: “Austin is famous for its wonderful food trailers, and this one certainly is a staple! Hey Cupcake has made South Congress its home for as long as I can remember, and it has grown to be one of Matt’s and my favorite date night dessert spots. We even took some of our engagement pictures there!”

7. Hotel San Jose: “One of our South Congress neighbors, and an absolutely adorable location for an after-work cocktail. This quaint hotel is always top of my list when recommending spots to my visiting friends. The atmosphere is so relaxing, and their house-made sangria is to die for!”

8. Homeslice Pizza: “My boys’ favorite pizza spot, so naturally it’s one of mine! I have to admit, their pepperoni pizza is my favorite guilty pleasure…”

9. Taco Shack: “Every Austinite has their own opinions on where to find the best tacos in town. My personal opinion? Taco Shack! I have to order the “Shack Taco” whenever I go, and it’s the one taco I make each of my visiting friends try!”
