Temporary. That one single word best describes my life these last few years. I’m working at a temporary job until I can finally break free. I’m my little brother’s temporary mother since our mom doesn’t give a crap about either of us. And I’m that temporary girl all the guys want to get with because I give it up so easily. According to the rumors, at least.
But now I’m the temporary girlfriend of Drew Callahan, college football legend and all around golden guy. He’s beautiful, sweet—and he’s hiding way more secrets than I am. He’s brought me into this fake life where everyone seems to hate me. And everyone seems to want something from him. The only thing he seems to want though is…
Me.
I don’t know what to believe anymore. All I know is, I think Drew needs me. And I want to be there for him.
Forever.

1st story that I have read my Monica Murphy. It was a quick read. I fell in love with the main female character right away, Fable.
Fable (20 yrs old) is a big sister that has to be more of a mother to her 13 year old brother Owen. Fable's mother is an alcoholic & has a new boyfriend every week. She has a semi part time job and does not take care of anyone including herself. Fable is a waitress at a local bar and by reputation a slut. Fable is always pretty and a great big sister. Drew is the handsome football player. Drew is a college student & studies hard to get good grades. Drew comes from a wealthy family and a completely screwed up one.

Drew has been told he must come home for Thanksgiving, his father gave him no choice in the matter. Drew has not been home in 2 years. Not since his 3 year old sister died. Drew needs a buffer..... Enter Fable. Drew asks Fable, even though they hardly know each other, if she will go with him for Thanksgiving week and pretend to be his girlfriend. Drew and his step mother, Adele, do not get along and his dad is always on him about the future. Drew just wants to be left alone. Fable has no choice but to say yes after Drew offers a lot of money for a week of her time. Fable needs the money.

As Drew & Fable enter Drew's messed up family life they become closer. Fable feels that she needs to protect him, help him, even heal him at times. Drew becomes very dependent on Fable to help him through this and soon Drew needs Fable just to breath. Fable makes everything better.

Drew has never been in a relationship, Fable has never had sex with someone she cared about...... This could be a disaster. As they become closer, true feelings for one another emerge but neither of them know if the other is playing the part or really does care for them. This one week they will fumble through & figure each other out, some of Drew's secrets are revealed, & Fable tries to break through Drew's wall. In the end they will know the truth of what they feel for one another but will it be enough to save Drew from pushing Fable out of his life completely or will Fable stop trying to break down the wall.
