Color of the Moment: Yellow Fever

My favorite looks from Sunday’s Golden Globes turned out to be strapless yellow sheaths- Naomi Watts in Gucci, Taylor Swift in Jenny Packham, and Leslie Mann in Kaufman Franco. It was a fresh and unexpected color that you don’t often see on the red carpet and each of these ladies nailed it from the fit, to the accessories, and the actual shades of yellow. It can be a tough color to get right! Slowly, but surely, more and more yellow pieces have been finding their way into my closet. It’s a universally flattering shade when it comes to clothing—try it, you might be surprised; and it acts as a great neutral when it comes to interiors. I think most of us, myself included, have typically thought of yellow as more of an accent color, but it pairs beautifully with so many other colors and has a way of energizing a space.

Chris Martin has written a song about this color and Sasha Adler has proclaimed “yellow goes with almost anything in my world”. Beautiful though possibly polarizing, I am totally loving bright, saturated shades of yellow. Are you a fan of yellow? Ask yourself again at the end of this post. You may just change your mind.
