Winter Beauty: Hits + Misses

Happy Valentines Day loves! Hope you're all having a great weekend (and a great long weekend to my Canadian readers). Here goes another hits misses post! Today I wanted to discuss some of the new products I was using throughout December - January - if you tried any of these, what were your thoughts on them?

Amie Skincare's NEW BLOOM Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes HIT
I'm a BIG fan of cleansing wipes for those nights where you come home late and can't be bothered to wash off all your makeup because you're either too lazy, too sleepy or a little too drunk (heh!) - super soft and gentle for sensitive skin - had no reactions - fragrance free - effectively removes all makeup including pain in the butt mascara - one sheet alone can easily remove a full face of makeup so the product lasted me a long time - doesn't leave a greasy film - inexpensive
These are available at Shoppers Drug Mart now! Make sure to check 'em out :)

Murad's AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser MISS

I really wanted to love this but saw no results from it unfortunately so I will not be repurchasing. - exfoliating beads were too fine/small to actually exfoliate anything - odd scent (this wasn't TOO bad but it definitely lost points for it) - didn't correct any pigmentation or discolouration - for the price I paid (about $34CAD), I would expect visible results since it is quite expensive for a cleanser

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in "Red Velvet" HIT
- this is my favourite lipstick line ever so far - cute packaging and the formula is amazing
- best part of their lip butter line: so moisturizing! Never leaves those flaky dry bits on your lips
- pigmented colour, super rich and warm red tones
- inexpensive, and their's always good deals on these lipsticks here and there. Regular $9-11CAD but sometimes they go on sale for $4-5CAD!!
- a wide variety of colours that will compliment any skintone

Bare Minerals Original Foundation in "Medium Beige' HIT
- the texture is super light and doesn't feel like it's weighing your skin down
- I love that mineral makeup is breathable and doesn't make your skin look flaky or dry which is a problem I find with a lot of powder formulas
- nice selection of colours to choose from to match your skin tone
- even though it's light, it still gives very good coverage and makes the skintone look so evened out!
- SPF15!
- A little on the expensive side but the results are well worth it!

Miracle 10 Cleanser II HIT
- gel-like cleanser with the perfect texture and a slight lather
- makes my skin feel super clean after but not tight or dry
- helps keep the breakouts away and helped clear up some of my acne scars making my skin tone look more even
- a little expensive but well worth it! It's been 3 months and I still have a good amount of product left and I've been using it every day usually twice a day!
* Disclaimer - some of the products in this review were compensated, however all reviews and opinions are my own!

thanks so much for reading!! Stay warm out there x
