Whether you are in school or not, spring has pretty much sprung, meaning it’s time to enjoy a little sunshine, rock those beachy waves, and spend time with family and friends. I miss the concept of having a spring break in my adult life—taking a break from work for week or two to reset and refresh (and lay on the beach…and drink cocktails). So, this year I’m making an effort to give myself a personal spring break, either in the form of a staycation here in LA or a vacation someplace else. In honor of the much-anticipated break, I have assembled the perfect packing list that will let you relax and have fun in style…
A stylish bikini is always the first item I pack when I’m traveling somewhere warm. And I like to invest in a fun new one each spring, since bathing suits can get worn out pretty easily. This Antibes Bikini from Marysia was my big splurge this season, but one that I know will be well worth it.
Marysia Pink Antibes Bikini, $260
If you look back at photos of me on vacation, there’s a good chance you’ll find pictures of me wearing hats. Not only do I like the way they look, they also help shade my skin from harmful UV rays. Scoop up this stylish version from J.Crew for your next trip.
J.Crew Natural Panama Hat, $58
There’s something about springtime that makes me want to go out dancing with my besties. And when that situation presents itself, I will be wearing a fun bright party dress, like the sunshine-hued one above by Luca Couture. It’s also great for brunch, shopping or any daytime excursions, too.
Luca Couture Drop-Waist Shift Dress, $69
I usually like to keep my jewelry to a minimum when I travel so that I don’t lose delicate or precious pieces. So, having pieces that make an understated splash are necessary. I adore these Gorjana Crystal Triangle Studs. Bonus: They won’t break the bank.
Gorjana Crystal Triangle Stud Earrings, $65
I’ve been having a love affair with stripes lately. Striped pieces go with everything and are so easily to throw on. This super soft t-shirt will look casual and cute with white or blue denim.
Frame Denim Le Boyfriend Striped Linen T-shirt, $90
Most girls don’t need any convincing that a pair of denim shorts is essential when jet setting for spring break. Throw them on over your bikini, wear them with a t shirt or put them on to lounge around—no matter how you look at it, jean shorts are necessary. I love the wash and fit of these Madewell ones.
Madewell Denim Shorts: Rip and Repair Edition, $74.50
A trusty pair of slip on sandals is a must-have on your next vacation. This pair from Joie is easy to slip on and will go with almost anything in your closet.
Joie A la Plage Nice Thong Sandals, $125
A straw tote just screams warm weather to me. This cute carryall will hold everything you need for a day on the beach. Click here to see what my team packs in their beach bags.
Straw Studios Water Hyacinth Straw Structured Tote, $52.99
I adore this pair of Illesteva sunnies because of contrast between the tortoise frames and the blue/green reflective lenses. I can see myself in these on the beach (pun intended).
Illesteva Leonard 48mm Mirrored Matte Tortoise Sunglasses, $177
Now that you know what to pack, you’ll need a stylish duffel bag to put it all in. I rely on this overnight bag from The Little Market. Not only will it go great with your outfit, it can also fit a ton of clothes, accessories and makeup inside.
The Little Market Overnight Bag in Capri, $240
And of course no vacation is complete without a good book to read on the beach. I’ve heard The Girl on the Train is quite the page-turner, so you can be sure it will be my next beach read.
