Saturday Night Attire

I had been itching to wear my new For Love And Lemons dress for a while and my impatient self couldn’t waiting for the summer warmth to wear it any longer. On Saturday night I headed to dinner for some sushi and then on to watch The Soul Jets preform at The Arts Club so I thought if I was dancing along to their amazing music I wouldn’t feel the January cold anyway ;).

You’ve probably seen throughout vlogmas a couple of For Love And Lemons pieces pop up. If you’re into lace items this brand is for you, they have the most delicate unique pieces that I can’t get enough of.

The dress itself makes me feel like a mermaid, it’s backless but with a nude mesh overlay that goes over the back, down the arms and just above the knee, which the camera didn’t pick up so well. Despite it being backless the front section is still quite fitted which means that the ladies stay in place if you know what I mean, always a problem I have with backless dresses. The bottom half of the dress looks as though you’re about to flash something but there’s a secure mesh layer that goes just above the knee. It’s a pretty revealing dress but the mesh nude mesh overlay ensures the dress stays secure. You can see the mesh better in the closeups as it didn’t get picked up by the camera in the full length shots! I’ve never worn a dress that received so many compliments from complete strangers as well as my friends, which makes me know it’s a keeper.

As far as pairing it with other bits and bobs I went for a YSL ring that I borrowed from my sister, a scrunchy black clutch and my standard nude pumps.
