Winter Weather in W'burg

The trouble with not blogging with any sort of regularity any more is I can no longer keep track of what I've recorded and what I haven't. And, I get behind. Way behind. :o(

A couple (or maybe even three!) weeks ago no, we had a nice bit of winter weather in the form of freezing rain.
Typically, freezing rain is not a good thing, what with icy roads and downed tree limbs and electric lines.

But, I can't help but find it all quite beautiful.
The world is glazed and glimmers and glints.

They had called for scant ice accumulation.

Um, I don't call this "scant".

While it was quite beautiful the first day, it was even more stunning the next when the sun came out.

This was a difficult shot to get and it still didn't capture it like I wished. The light was passing through the ice, making it glimmer and shine in the tree tops.

Then, last Tuesday, we awoke to this.

It may be all we get this year.

:o(

My girls decided to throw snowballs at the windows. Really, ladies?

Methinks Bean's boots are too little now...

I know I shared before, but I thought to do so again. :o)

Lil, she's growing! We had to go out last night and buy size seven pants! She's finally outgrown size 6!! And, she's allllmost in a size 1 shoe. ;oP My little Bitty is so teeny! I'm fairly certain she'll be wearing hand-me-downs from Bean before it's all said and done. :oP

Otherwise, things around here continue to plug along. I've been commissioned to make five hair clippies and three scarves so I've been busily knitting of an evening. I find it all quite soothing, actually.

Additionally, I've finished a red scarf for Lil, and I have a skein of purple awaiting me when I finish my commissions. :o)

I'm still trying to stay off the screens, so I'm really falling behind on my blog reading. I miss you guys. I'll be back soon, I promise!

Sparklies:

1.

She makes me smile. :o)

2. Lily was so chuffed and grateful for her new duds. She's had nothing but hand-me-downs to wear this year. The clothes we picked up were all clearance, but to her, they're wonderful and she's utterly thrilled with them. We also picked up two pairs of clearance boots. I love a good bargain!

3. Ellie's still a cookie/cake decorating video junkie.

4. Lil's plugging through third grade with flying colors! Her reading continues to blossom and this mama couldn't be prouder. Now to get her working on that writing...especially appropriate use of capital letters...gr.

5. Trader Joe's. I love them. I really do.
