Vintage Chic Tablescape

With this week’s tablescape, we wanted to take a palette that may not often be associated with wedding or event settings, and demonstrate just how classy and sophisticated it could be. With a simple combination of black and silver we created this Vintage Chic Tablescape that shines as an epitome of chic poise.

The inspiration for this table really began with our new chemical lace collection. Originally created through a vintage process that involves careful embroidery of lace patterns on a fabric that is later stripped away, our collection has been modernized and studded with sequins for a subtle glinting sparkle. By adding a tablecloth beneath the woven material, we create beautiful layers of color. The black polyester we chose makes the silver chemical lace overlay really stand out, and adds a dramatic and striking look.

Because chemical, or sequin lace, has a lot of pattern and shine, keeping the accents minimal is key. For our centerpiece we place a 10″ round mirror to give us stability, as well as to help the center decor stand out against the lace pattern. On top of that we used simple clear votives, and two tall pillar candle holders for height. The crystal tulip and crystal round candle holders partner elegantly with the sparkling table linen, and keep the palette very chic.

For our table settings we created contrast by bringing black back into the decor. With glossy black chargers, white plates, and black napkins we’ve achieved a refined, polished look with the table. By accenting each napkin with crystal napkin rings we created consistency with the crystal center pieces, without overpowering the eye with shine.

Finally we added a finishing touch by placing individual place card holders beside each place setting. The small vintage street lamps work perfectly with the classic origins of the sequin lace overlay, while the black finish pairs with the overall palette.
