#naturalmanemonday : THREE months post big chop

Well, it's technically been three months and one week since the day I up and chopped off all my damaged hair with my trusty red Fiskar scissors. In case you missed it here is what my hair looked like:

If you've been reading this blog since then, you recall that I set "rules" for myself to obtain healthier hair, and while I did falter here and there (especially with exercising), for the most part I've been eating healthier and moisturizing like crazy. Anyway, I know if you're anything like me you're probably thinking: 1."Why are you talking about natural hair on a vintage shop's blog?" and 2."When are you going to show us what your hair looks like now?". Well I'll be answering both questions after the jump!
So from now on, every Monday will be #naturalmanemonday (Natural Mane Monday)! All day on twitter I'll be discussing natural hair and I'd love if you guys joined me! While LIONESS is a vintage shop and doesn't sell hair products, it is also an extension of myself and I have kinky, coily, curly natural hair. I think it's important to spread knowledge, insight, and experiences so that others have examples to learn from. Not that I know anything at all, but any mistakes I make can be avoided by others who read up on my hair journey. But now that I've explained, here is what my hair looks like three months later!

Can you guys believe I've actually been wearing my lil fro out into the world?! That's right, no hats (well sometimes), no scarves, and no wigs. Just me and my short TWA (teeny weeny afro). However thanks to a box dye debacle that left my hair super dry I may go ahead and do braids but I'm still debating. <---THIS was written before I recorded the vid, I'm definitely doing braids!

So tell me, if you've gone through a big chop how did you get over the shock of having short hair? And...how did you style your hair?
