Fashion Jackpot: Gaming for Cash

New York Fashion Week kicked off another inspirational month of international fashion weeks, from Milan to London, for the F/W ’13 season. While most of us bloggers, writers, or fashion savvy insiders are constantly reviewing and observing the latest trends, sometimes all of this time and energy prompts one troubling question: Where do we get all of the money for this? While we are most often found behind the screen, more often bloggers are being spotted and recognized in the front lines. Thus, we must set an example, or an image per-say, ourselves.

Surely, we opt to inform the public eye on current trends to our liking, but it does come with a price. If you’re not currently working, you may be feeling out of the loop or worrisome about your shortage funds, which believe me, is one at the top of my list. Also – it has been brought to my attention on numerous occasions that I have quite expensive taste - does anyone else see this as a positive? Nonetheless, bloggers eye products, promote products, and therefore, must be an embassador of that product. In more recent years, fashion lady’s have turned to online bingo as a means of earning a little extra cash. Online Bingo? Play for free? I know, why didn’t I think of that before. I mean, it’s safe, efficient, and all can be done in the comfort of your own home. The demographic playing the jackpot game the most seems to fall under middle aged women – women that may earn enough to support themselves, and possible families, but in this economies day and age, may not have any extra cash for non-essentials. An example of this trend would be one of the top visited and played sites originating from the UK, CheekyBingo. It’s fun, lively interactive site is feminine and fun, and just for signing up (for free), they’ll throw you 20 British Pounds to start. Thus, the gaming trend is creating a bond between bingo and fashion. Not only can we see a correlation, but it also forces us to question sociological questions about our capitalist system and materalistic wants.

Should we be resorting to immersing ourselves in games to find means of getting products which will catch an eye? And what does this say about the recent in-fluctuation of blogs and bloggers becoming more in-front of the camera than behind it; are they closely gaining on the social ladder?

If anyone has tried Bingo as a means of buying products of interest? Let me know!
