B Started School

Our big boy started pre-k this week.

In our district we have an amazing school just for special needs kids age 3-22. They have everything he would ever need; equipment, therapists, nurses, and even a super cute therapy dog that roams around the school. It's small about 50-60 students and each classroom is done by age. He is in 3-4yo room with three other kiddos. Most are similar to him, in a wheelchair bu there is a wide range of disabilities-abilities there.
When kids get older (18-22) they go into the transition program where they teach them to be more self sufficient; cooking, cleaning, bathing, ect depending on where they are at mentally.
The principal, his teacher, and his therapist all love what they do and you can tell by how they talk about the school. I felt totally safe leaving him there once I saw how awesome the school is and how dedicated the staff is.
Once B gets his wheelchair he will be picked up by a bus and he will have an aid with him for transport. Not gunna lie, I'm a bit nervous about the bus.
B goes everyday from 8:45-11:15 and gets visits from each therapist daily (PT-OT-Speech-Vision). Each day of the week they go into a different room at the school (mobility room with cool swings and stuff, sensory room with lights and different texture equipment, music room with all kinds of sounds, and the gym with a bounce house and different activities the kids can do).
He is LOVING it. Everyday we hear just how much fun he had, and what new things he can already do. The timing is perfect because I (we) get some alone time with baby girl and B gets to go 'play'.
