Beauty Hacks: Five Uses For Deodorant You’ll Never Have Thought Of

Whether you're a fan of sprays, gels, solids or creams, deodorant is something that sits in our bathrooms ready to perform its duty with little-to-no attention paid to it. Developed to help reduce perspiration and protect our underarms from ponging, it's one of those products we rely on but don't often spend a second thought on - until it doesn't work properly. Did you know that the qualities of deodorant also make it great for tonnes of other functions, providing you with a helping hand and a right hand man when you need it most? Here are five uses for your deodorant supply you may never have thought of.

Blister Prevention: By applying deodorant to the sides of your feet before slipping on a pair of new shoes, it’ll act as a barrier between your skin and the material to keep blisters at bay. Solid sticks work best for this, as well as helping to prevent skin from chaffing on warm days.

Soothe Bites: Thanks to the inclusion of aluminum salts in many deodorants, a swipe of product over an irritating bite will help provide instant relief; it's an on-the-go soothing solution when you simply can't get to a chemist.

Foot Friend: A spritz or application along the bottoms of your feet will fight off foot odour and wetness that may accumulate throughout the day - especially in warmer months, when you may find yourself slipping and sliding around in your sandals.

Shaving Partner: Apparently a swipe of deodorant post-shaving can not only ease painful razor burn, thanks to the soothing ingredients, but also help prevent ingrown hairs from occurring. I've no idea why or how, but according to many - it works!

Nail Polish Remover: Thanks to the high alcohol content of spray deodorants, a spritz onto a cotton ball provides a great alternative when you've run out of polish remover. It may not work as well on dark colours, but it's great when you need to get rid of chipped polish in a hurry.

Have you ever tried any of these alternative uses for deodorant? Do you have any other uses that are simply too genius not to share?
