Why Benefit Do The Best Eyebrow Tools (Plus Their New Charity Initiative)

If you've got a good set of brows on you, the rest of your face kind of falls into place. Before I discovered the power of a full and perfectly-arched brow, I spent years trying to make the rest of my face work with only a smidgin of hairy goodness; there was something not quite right. After I was well and truly educated on the benefit of a decent eyebrow pencil and the artistry associated with plucking, I've never looked back - I've even invested in eyebrow tattoos to ensure they look as full and even as possible. There's one brand I always turn to when I'm in need of brow tools, and it's the brow experts at Benefit Cosmetics - the one stop shop to ensure your two hairy face bits are looking fabulous. From precise pencils, smooth crayons, defining gels and brow-building fibres, they've got everything a girl needs to ensure a perfectly framed face.

The first brow product from Benefit I truly fell in love with was Gimme Brow, (£17.50) a brush-on fiber gel that adheres to skin and hair to create brows where before there were none. As someone with very sparse hair on the inner brow area, this works wonders to naturally bulk out my brows in a split second - it just brushes on and builds up to create a long-lasting finish. Similarly, Speed Brow (£13.00) helps to tint, shape and set brows perfectly without them feeling crunchy; if you're gifted in the brow department then this little wand will help comb them to perfection while adding a touch of colour.

Benefit's Instant Brow Pencil (£15.50) is also a must-have for any brow enthusiast, providing a creamy crayon-like texture that glides onto brows (and skin) and works well to fill in gaps. It's a great every-day product, but equally works well to create real impact and definition for a stronger result - I love it with a strong red lip. Although it's more expensive than a lot of other brow tools I turn to, it's the one with the most malleable texture that's an absolute pleasure to use.

The key to the classic 'Benefit Brow' look is a great arch, which is where their High Brow (£15.50) highlighting pencils come in; they can be applied under the brow to create lift and definition, blended in with a finger for a really natural result. If, like me, you love a multi-tasking product, then you can also use these handy pencils along the bridge of the nose and on the tops of cheekbones to reflect the light. Two products in one? Bonus.

Because brows are such an important part of their business, this year Benefit are using them to start a crusade. In 2015 Benefit are launching their 'Bold Is Beautiful' project, which aims to raise over $2 million across the world for local charities dedicated to fostering women’s education and mentorship, access to wellness and financial stability. In the UK Benefit are supporting Refuge (a charity close to my heart that aims to support women suffering from domestic violence) as well as Look Good Feel Better (who look after women suffering with the effects of cancer.)

This May you can join Benefit in supporting women by enjoying their iconic brow wax service that’s available in 130 Benefit bars nationwide. Sound strange? During the month of May 100% of profits from this service will go to these charities, supporting women and girls across the UK. Plus, as a thank you, Benefit will give every customer a Gimme Brow product (my fave) absolutely free. Get your brows done, look good, feel great, do your bit for charity and grab a freebie? There's no reason not to get involved - do it for the girls! (And the brows)

Are you a fan of Benefit's brow products? Are you looking forward to supporting their 'Bold Is Beautiful' project this May?
