I decided not to do a big crazy 2014 recap on the blog this year. I just wanted to say, I loved 2014. It was so exciting! We traveled a lot, and learned so much as a family. There was never a dull moment. Yeah, we had a bit of a snafu with our broken down ride in Montana, and that sucked, but we came out of it ok. I don't regret it. There were a lot of highlights too.
I never set out to do it, but for some reason this year really pushed me out of my comfort zone. Here are a few of the more notably brave moments.
I jumped 25 feet off a waterfall
I drove 15 hours solo back from Montana, in a truck doing 120 kmph.
I accepted an invitation to give blogging advice, LIVE on TV! ACK!!
We visited a big city without a car and spent a whole week navigating an unfamiliar transit system with great success.
We tried family winter camping in a yurt and stretched our legs in the camping department.
I took a big scary opportunity and left my comfortable job of 11 years to relocate to a brand new school (I'm loving it by the way).
I tried downhill skiing for the first time, loved it, and can't wait to do it again!
I hope I can pull it off again this year! We have a really exciting road trip planned for July. We're driving from San Fransisco to LA along the pacific highway, and back through Yosemite. This is obviously kind of a big deal financially, so I don't know if we'll be experiencing a lot of variety in the travel department otherwise - but you never know! We're always looking for ways to make our days interesting. My only goals for 2015 is that we spend our days happily together as a family, and that we continue to push our boundaries every chance we get. I'm hoping that last year was just the beginning. Go adventure!
