Sweden’s Got Talent

These past weeks I have been following Britain’s Got Talent. And if you have too, you know there’s all sorts of dancing and magic going on in that TV show. I’m ambivalent about dance. On one hand, I love movies like Dirty Dancing and I would love to learn how to dance tango and how to breakdance. On the other hand, I hate dance shows like Dancing with the Stars and those dance performances they have as “entertainment” during award shows. I have never enjoyed watching people dance on TV and I don’t understand why it is so popular nowadays. I’m not ambivalent about magic. I love magic. Every kind from Harry Potter to Penn and Teller. A lot of dance acts made it to the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals, but only one magic act. And what kind of magic act you ask? Well, the best kind. Magicians from Sweden. In the end, Peter Brynolf & Jonas Ljung didn’t make it to the final on Saturday (they lost to a bunch of dancing kids…) but they did do some amazing tricks both in their audition and in the semi-final. If you haven’t seen it, here it is.
