Have you heard of Stitch Fix? I am sure you have, it’s quite popular now-a-days. And rightly so! It’s an amazing company & the whole idea of it all is genius. I absolutely adore my Stitch Fix boxes and the only reason I haven’t done them lately is because they don’t deliver to France. Boo.
If you have a Stich Fix and you just haven’t figured out how to make it work for you or you’re on the fence about signing up, I thought I’d help you out with a few tips and tricks on how to make the most of your Stitch Fix subscription.
The thing is, the company, the stylists, the Stitch Fix team, they are there for you. They (obviously) want you to love every box. It’s set up so you can have a voice and it is like a legit personal stylist! Who could ask for more?!
Create a Stitch Fix style Pinterest board and just pin away all the of the styles and items that you just adore. Be sure that under each pin you make sure that the subscription explains how you feel about said style or article of clothing. Something like “I love this outfit except the pants.” Or maybe “I think this is super cute but don’t know if I could pull it off!” This way when the stylist takes a look at your board (and they will), they can really get a good sense of what you like, what you’re not interested in and maybe some looks you’d like to try. It will help each box look closer and closer to exactly your style!
Do you have a fancy wedding to go to soon and you need a new dress? Or that reunion that’s been haunting you for the last couple months? Let your stylist know! The last box I got before I left for France in August I let them know that I would be in France. They sent me the most adorable black and white striped blazer, you guys. It was one of the best purchases I have made from Stitch Fix! These stylists know their stuff!
When you get a box and there is something in it that is just so ugly you can’t even. Or something that would look great on a friend but you would never wear it. Or even something that you love but isn’t practical for your lifestyle. Let the stylist know! Even if you don’t have the same stylist as before, the stylist that packs your box takes a look at the notes and reviews them to make sure that they are not choosing items that don’t go with your style. Seriously, like a personal stylist without all the fees! Does it get much better than that?
Part of the fun of doing a service like the Stitch Fix subscription boxes are that someone is choosing clothes for you. Someone with style. Someone who is good at their job. Someone paid to choose clothes for people! Trust their style and know that they are looking at your Pinterest board, reading your feedback and looking at your style profile. They want to help you look cute. Have an open mind with what they give you. You have three days to try on the clothes, so try on the unsure pieces with a few pieces you already have in your wardrobe. My rule is if I can wear it three different ways, it can stay. Now of course, if it’s not your thing, by all means, send it back! Just try to have an open mind first!
Sometimes the stylists will knock it out of the park with the first box. Maybe if you’re a more particular person it make take a few boxes to get it right. Remember you don’t pay for what you don’t keep, so there is no harm done with not keeping items and giving some feedback. As the stylists start to see your style (and you’re doing all the above tips!) you will see the boxes grow more and more to your liking. Give it time, they will blow you away!
Now, I don’t think Stitch Fix is for everyone. I happen to love it for a couple of reasons. First of all, I don’t have a ton of time to shop. I have two little boys who are not interested in the mall unless it comes with food and playing in the play area. Which doesn’t leave a lot of time to actually shop. Stitch Fix subscription allows me to still have new things without the hassle of trying to make it out to the mall.
Second of all, it’s easy. It comes right to my door. Each month I get to choose close that were picked just for me. I love it.
Third of all, I love to try new things. I am not too particular about things being a certain way and I want to try out what they give me. I know not everyone feels that way and if you’re one who has time and enjoys picking out clothes for yourself, it might not be for you. But if you’re a busy mom who still wants to look fabulous, you have got to check it out!!
I nearly forgot another reason I absolutely adore Stitch Fix. I am 6-feet tall. Very tall for a girl. I’m also a size 10, so I’m not small. I got a booty and thighs and I’m okay with that. But sometimes finding clothes — specially now-a-days — it can be challenging. You know the ones where it feels like it was made cheaply in China and the tag read medium but seriously it must have been an extra small. The ones that make you feel huge even when you know you’re not. You know the ones I’m talking about. Well, I have never once received an article of clothing like that from Stitch Fix. Everything has been amazingly well-made and worth the price. They also have super trendy pieces for all sizes. I just love a company that wants women to feel beautiful at all sizes.
After I finished this post, clicked over to check my e-mail and guess what I found sitting in the inbox? Stitch Fix is now opening up their services for pregnant women!! When we were there during the Stitch Fix Vacay back in September we had chatted about it and they said they were moving in that direction, but we all had to keep hush-hush about it. Well, now it’s here!! If your preggos, all you have to do is update your profile with your due date, give them some ideas of what you’re looking for and your stylist will take it from there.
Well, there you have it! How to make the Stitch Fix subscription service work for you and why I personally love them to death. Oh – not to mention that the ladies that run it are beyond fabulous. Like, love them for life fabulous.
If you already have a Stitch Fix subscription, I hope this gives you some ideas on how to make it work for you! If not, sign up here, you won’t regret it! If you’ve signed up and haven’t ordered your first box yet, you’ve just gotta jump in and give it a try. Remember, you don’t have to keep anything in the box if you don’t want to. You’ll probably want to, but ya know, just in case. They also have some awesome tips on their blog that go into more detail about what I talked about here. Check it out!
Now I’m so anxious to get my box the day I get home from France – it’s already scheduled!!
