Quick and Easy Poached Eggs

I just have to eat breakfast, otherwise I cannot function, so I always make sure that my food choices for the first meal of the day are hearty, healthy, delicious and easy to make. Poached eggs are my go-to breakfast choice, and sometimes, I even have them for lunch if I don't get a chance to have them for breakfast because why not?
To start off I just boil water in a medium sized pot.

While the water boils I crack an egg into a little bowl. You want to make sure that the egg yolk doesn't break. You can also skip this step (you can just crack the egg straight into the pot when the time comes), but I find that in order to make sure my poached egg turns out perfect every time, cracking it into a bowl is incredibly helpful.

When the water boils I turn the heat to a low/medium level.

Then I begin to stir inside the middle of the pot, creating a little whirlpool into which I carefully dump my egg into. The first time I did this it came out a bit wonky, but now that I've got the hang of it, it's actually quite easy.

I've got two eggs in the pot here. If I make two eggs, I put one egg in the whirlpool, and one slightly to the side. They usually take about 2 minutes to cook, but since I've never properly timed it, I definitely recommend lifting them up with a spoon (with holes) to give them a closer look.

While my water was boiling for my eggs, I toasted a slice of rye bread (cut in half). Rye bread is so healthy for you, and it keeps me so much fuller than other breads. I also like to add some tomato on top as well. This varies on the day though, so sometimes I'll put a layer of homemade pesto on or some smoked salmon. Some people loved mashed avocado, but I find that doesn't sit too well with me, but really anything goes!

Once they are done, pull them out using a spoon with holes (so there's no water), and put them on your bread.

I season mine with some black pepper and Himalayan pink salt, but you could add chilli flakes, cayenne pepper, paprika, etc.

Here is my perfectly poached egg. Ain't it a beauty? It was very delicious as well I might say.

Obviously no breakfast is complete without a cup of coffee (I take mine black). I think I was actually having poached eggs for lunch when I took these photographs, so that's why I have a couple pieces of Purdys chocolate (made with chunks of Himalayan salt).
