Updated Eyebrows Tutorial with Innisfree Eco Gel Eyebrow

Hallo!!

This entry will feature a recent purchase I made and I have been loving it! I am talking about the Innisfree Eco Gel Eyebrow, and I got mine in the shade 03, which is the darkest shade among the three they have. Shade 03 is a darkish cool grey brown, which is usually the color I go for my eyebrows. This retails for S$12, which is super mad cheap in my opinion.

The product comes in the form of a built in brush on one end, and the product itself on the inside of the cap on the other end. It is a gel eyebrow product, but it is unique because the gel texture is quite dry, almost 'powdery' which makes it super easy to use. I find that with the typical brow cream/gel products, they are quite creamy and it is too easy to get too much on your brows and eventually on your brows. But for this 'dry' gel cream, you have more control over the application and the overall finish is a lot more natural. Even the built in brush is very user friendly and decent in terms of quality and I am able to mimic the look of filling in more hairs with the brush and the cream gel.

And because it is a cream gel formula, I find that it is very long lasting - despite the soft color and how natural it looks. So I guess you can tell that this is a product which I have really enjoyed since I purchased it.

Here are some product close ups:

And I always finish my brows with the ABH Clear Brow gel no matter what brow product I use - It sets my brow hairs in place without making the hair 'hard' and 'crispy'. This is definitely a staple in my eyebrows routine.

As you can see, the product itself comes in the cap... and you will dip the brush into the cap to pick up product.

and a swatch - but swatching on my hand is kind of useless, so I will show you a quick step by step of how I use this eco gel thingy. As you can see in these pictures... here are the steps:

1. I start at the front part of my brow, and I like to draw the lower outline of my brow first. This will be a guide as to how 'low' my brows will end.
2. Next, I will draw short feathery strokes above that lower outline... sort of to fill in the brow shape. This dry cream formula allows me to do the short strokes and mimic hair strokes.
3. Then I will draw the upper outline of the brows. This is like the fave part of my brow drawing routine. When I get a good upper outline, I feel really happy about my brows. LOL.
4. Then I will taper out both the upper and lower outlines to form the arch and tail of my eyebrows. and I also fill in whatever spots that are still remaining. Finally, I will use a spoolie brush to comb through everything and blend the product somewhat.. and I also use the spoolie brush to diffuse any harsh lines at the start of my brows..to give a softer overall look.
5. I use the ABH clear brow gel to comb everything in place.

I must emphasise that this method works for me, because I like quite a certain bold brow look - but I feel that overall my brows still look natural.. or maybe I am too used to such a big eyebrows look.

And this is the overall look - you can see the hair growth.. and the overall shape is quite natural.

The Eco Gel Eyebrows really last the whole day. It sets, and doesn't budge.
It gives a more natural translucent look compared to using my usual brow powder compacts.

I did have to try it a couple of times before I got the hang of using something new on my eyebrows, but once I got the hang of it, I really love the finished look.
This method takes me slightly longer than my eyebrow compact method.. so in my early morning get ready routine, I will still use my eyebrow compact (Guerlain, Shiseido make really awesome good ones that I love). I save this Eco Gel for weekends or when I think I have more time to get ready.

I highly recommend this eyebrow product, it is so cheap, so long lasting, and really gives good eyebrows. I think I have already gotten at least 3 of my girlfriends to get this product! Heheh.

Hope this review has been helpful, and thanks for reading!
