Got a Guy Question? Ask a Guy.

We’ve made the argument before that friends are better than Google. While the search engine may be able to predict your strangest queries and offer a slew of links that are generally relevant and helpful, no algorithm can compete with she who knows exactly what place you’re talking about that has those thingies you liked and is on the corner near that other place where you saw that dog.

However.

There are questions that even your wisest girlfriend — she who’s been through it all, seen it all and therefore ostensibly understands it all while resembling an owl, in a good way — can’t adequately answer. They tend to revolve around dating (plus all the social media stressors that come with it) and often, the opposite sex.

The reasons for this vary: she doesn’t want to hurt your feelings, she’s biased, she doesn’t think you’ll take her advice, or she thinks she knows but she has no idea. And as askers, we know all too well that sometimes we’ve already mapped the plan of action regardless of what comes out of our friend’s mouth.

So what do you do? Ask a totally objective guy. Isaac Hindin-Miller, to be specific.

(Quick pause for you to wave at your computer as though we are all FaceTiming, and say hi.)

Our MR Man About Town describes himself as: a “fashion writer, anecdotalist, relationship enthusiast, karaoke all-star, Gemini, expat Kiwi, enabler, walking contradiction, shameless self-promoter and stone cold East Coast thug.” If those final five words didn’t just seal the deal for you, take our word that this dude knows how to answer even the most nuanced of questions — including the kinds that are a little embarrassing — by breaking shit down like a cardboard box and telling you like it is without making you mad.

So now comes your part: in the comments below, ask a guy. Ask Isaac Hindin-Miller about what it means if the person you like Snapchats you but doesn’t text back. Ask him what it means if you had a sleepover but didn’t sleep. What to do if you get nervous on dates. How to deal with unwanted attention, creepy GIFS or the square root of Jupiter. He’s all ears, and the sooner you ask, the sooner we can all get some much needed answers.

(If you prefer to remain anonymous: send your questions to [email protected] with ASK ISAAC in the subject line.)

Do your due diligence and stalk him out before asking him about rashes and relationships. Follow him on Instagram here, Twitter here, and check out his website here. Isaac Hindin-Miller has written for GQ, The New York Times, Business of Fashion, Esquire, style.com, (Jesus, overachiever here!) and The New Zealand Herald.
