"It took a while to grow the confidence to say, 'This is who I am, take it or leave it.'" - Coco Rocha

I had this post laying for weeks in draft mode. When I found Coco's quote, I immediately had a post in mind and a particular outfit. As you can see, I rarely wear body con dresses. I must admit that this model was not designed for the fuller figure, so originally it will fit more loose. Just FYI. But I shop everywhere, even in straigth sized stores.
I consider myself a confident plussized woman. I believe in who I am and what I want. And even with this confidence, I have my days of feeling insecure. Especially if I'm trying a look I'm not certain about. Like I said, I rarely wear body cons. I wondered why though? Was I ashamed of something? Am I not the advocate of wear your clothes, don't let your clothes wear you? On what was I basing my insecurity? Giving these questions a deeper thought, I concluded I was founding my lack of security on how I thought others would react on my decision to wear this dress. Projecting an idea in your mind as a fact and reality. So feeding your mind with constructive information is key. Be aware what you are reading, who you are spending your time with. Whatever side you are feeding, will grow stronger. Feeding your fear, your insecurity will become bigger. Surrounding yourself with supportive and loving spirits will make your confidence more sturdy.

So Coco's quote is not for others, it is for myself. I look in the mirror and tell myself, "this is me, take it or leave it." Which thoughts are you feeding lately?
