thredUP is the biggest online consignment store the world has ever seen, and now it’s giving all of us a gigantic holiday bonus: Keep 100% of every handbag you sell!

thredUP boasts more than a million customers who buy and sell gently loved women’s, juniors and kids clothing and accessories. Like any store, thredUP typically takes a percentage of every sale—between 20% and 50%. But their #bagUP promotion, which extends through 12.31.14, nixes that fee and gives all proceeds back to the seller. Plus, they’ve upped the ante by hand-picking some drool-worthy designer handbags—including Fendi, Jimmy Choo and Stella McCartney—to giveaway to those who share deets about the thredUP #bagUP contest on Facebook.

Like everything at thredUP, the steps are super easy:

  1. Order a free Clean Out bag from the thredUP site and drop your handbag (as well as any other clothes or accessories you want to sell) inside.
  2. Give the Clean Out bag to your U.S. Postal Service carrier or drop it off at a FedEx Office location—it’s already pre-paid and pre-addressed.
  3. thredUP staff assesses and assigns a value to your bag, then photographs and posts it on the site. (Items that they don’t accept go to charity or textile recycling companies; you can also get it back by paying a $12.99 shipping fee.)
  4. Most items sell within 30 days and once your bag does, you get 100% of the sales price, redeemable as thredUP shopping credit or as cash through PayPal.

A survey performed by thredUP found that the average American woman owns 11 handbags and only 35% of us are wearing all of them. That’s money in your closet, people! So what are you waiting for? Click here to get started!
