Do you love award shows? I do, and my twins are starting to enjoy them as well. Knowing that their favorites like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Skylanders Trap Team, and Spongebob are amongst the nominees, my boys will be tuning in for sure! And since they are boys, they have to eat, right? The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards will have my two in front of the TV on March 28th, with snacks in hand….and I’ll want to be watching with them! So, how do I keep it simple and let them have a little fun and good food while watching? Today I am going to share with you some tips on hosting a Kids’ Choice Awards Party to Remember for your favorite kids with food and drinks I can find at Walmart.

Keep with the theme of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. We know there is a lot of green in the Kids’ Choice awards, right? If you don’t know what I’m referring to, tune in and you’ll know for sure! Thankfully, my two enjoy healthy foods, so I’ll be serving their favorites~green apples alongside some Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters drink pouches. And even better, I can pick up the Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters at WalMart! Since my husband and I will be watching alongside of the boys, I’ll want something that I can eat and drink….and not feel bad about myself. The Capri Sun Roaring’ Waters only has 30 calories, and I love the lightly fruit flavored water.

Keep the food coming and plentiful! I don’t want to be in the kitchen all night, making snack after snack. So, my plan is to put out some easy to eat foods. Like I mentioned, the green apples and Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters. But what about something sweet? Rice crispy treats, drizzled with some green icing and topped with some fun sprinkles will give them just enough sweet to munch on while enjoying the awards! Also, in keeping with the plan of giving them good foods to eat, I like to keep portions small, and just set out a little bit of food at a time when we are hosting parties.

Keep them active and thinking. My boys LOVE to play BINGO. Probably because it’s just a little bit competitive, yet it gives them something to concentrate on. So, I created these Printable Kids’ Choice Awards BINGO Cards for them. You can even print them off, too! To make it even more fun, have them use small candies or green game chips to mark their spaces.

Start the excitement early. The Kids’ Choice Awards airs on March 28, 2015. Between now and then, watch some of the nominees and see who you want to vote for! Start with some of the movies up for awards, like Big Hero 6, Mockingjay, or Malificient can make for a fun family movie night. Or, play some fun video games together! Skylanders Trap Force, Angry Birds, or Disney Infinity 2.0 are our favorites. Want to make it more educational? Read Diary of a Wimpy Kid aloud and then watch the movie.

Most importantly, keep it family oriented. I like that we can spend time as a family around the TV with good for you snacks and drinks like Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters. They’re low calorie, and and I enjoy the lightly fruit flavored drinks myself! The times of watching shows with our kids is precious. Enjoy this family time together and you might even learn something about your kiddos! Are you ready to host a family fun night?
