Christmas Festivities = Lotsa Good Food

I love this time of year…

Cheer is in the air. Sparkles and lights everywhere. Extra quality time with those you love. Parties and Christmas festivities galore. And the FOOD. Can’t forget the delicious food.

We are blessed, yes?

Yesterday involved a couple Christmas parties – the first being at my MOPS meeting in the morning and the second being our small group Christmas party at our house in the evening. It was a fun yet busy day! And you guessed it – it involved lots of yummy food.

My day started out with a banana and some coffee. We get brunch at MOPS, so I had this to hold me over until I got to church.

I loaded my plate with alllll the good stuff. Spinach quiche, green chile egg quiche thing (incredible), veggie egg casserole, almond cake, pumpkin muffin, cinnamon sugar muffin, and some fruit. MOPS brunch is always the bomb.

MOPS was a real good time. We had an encouraging speaker, great discussion, a gift exchange (I got nail polish and pretty nail shields!), and an ugly sweater contest.

Hunter and I got home, and I proceeded to scurry around getting everything cleaned and ready for our small group party. Somewhere in there I took a break to eat some leftover Four Bean Vegetarian Chili topped with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream.

Then I promptly inhaled a brownie/cream cheese/raspberry bar we got from my mother-in-law’s Christmas work event last week. That thing was GOOD.

I continued to clean, clean, clean, type this post, and drank some Skoop A-Game Sweet Greens with almond milk to get in some extra greens for the day. I love that this gives me some extra vitamins and nutrients on those days I get busy (or lazy) and slack on the greens. Two thumbs up Skoop!

Our small group arrived right around 6:30 PM and we all dug into the spread everyone contributed. There was an awesome cheese spread and crackers, spinach dip and bread, meatballs, sugar cookies, and brownies. I have no photos… I was too busy chowing down, but it all got two thumbs up from me. Yum!

Alright friends, enough of the food chat for today, I’m off to my brother’s college graduation this morning! Apparently it’s a big month for graduations around here. Oh yeah, and it’s an ASU graduation (AKA huge school) and I’ll have Hunter with me. Ha! This should be interesting… Wish me luck!

Thanks to Jenn for the WIAW link-up!

Do you have any Christmas festivities/parties going on this week?

Appetizers or dessert?

What’s your favorite part of the Christmas season?
