China Glaze ~ But Of Corpse

Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope you all had a great time trick or treating or attending a Halloween party :) I had a long work day and went to bed early, so I did not celebrate Halloween. Still, I wanted to dress my nails properly. Since I have done quite a few Halloween designs this year, I felt like wearing a plain polish this time and the one I went with was But Of Corpse from China Glaze's most recent Halloween collection called Apocalypse Of Color.

I was so excited to try this one, because I love China Glaze's Halloween polishes and I love green. But to be honest, But Of Corpse did not sweep me off my feet. Application was ok, you had to work quickly because it dried so fast, but it wasn't an impossible job. But while the polish dried, it started to crack in some areas, especially on my pointer and middle finger.

For this manicure I used two coats of China Glaze - But Of Corpse over one layer of Essie - Nourish Me base coat. Since I have not heard anyone having problems with crackling before it might be that base coat that did not work well with But Of Corpse. Maybe that is also why the polish chipped badly within 24 hours upon application :(

One other thing I did not like about But Of Corpse: it stained my nails like crazy! When I took the remainder off, I was left with some unsightly yellow stains which made me look like a chain smoker - not pretty.
I wanted to love this polish so badly, because the metallic green color with black glitter and golden shimmer looks perfect for Halloween. But the formula and wear time did not impress me. Before I abandon But Of Corpse completely, I want to give it another try over another base coat and fingers crossed it'll hold up better!
What was on your nails this Halloween?
