Dr. Angela Talks to the ‘Eyes of March’

Dr. Angela is back today! She is asking us to take a look at our eyes. Enjoy!

Eyes are often the first thing we notice about each other. They express our emotion, intentions and energy. We want to make sure what others see is our liveliness and true beauty.

Don’t let your eyes betray you.

Changes such as excess skin, wrinkles or “bags” around the eyes can convey an unwanted impression of being “tired” or “angry”. Genetic changes can be seen as early as in the twenties and can be accentuated by the natural aging process. Looking at our family members may reveal what we may have in store. Of course, we all want to make sure our eyes continue to look as vibrant on the outside as we feel energetic on the inside. Fortunately, blepharoplasty, also known as an “eye lift,” is a simple procedure that can give you a refreshed look instantly.

Conquer the bags

Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids or both. It is great for anyone with a busy personal or professional life that would like to improve the appearance of drooping upper eyelids and/or puffy bags beneath the eyes. Eyelid surgery can be performed under local or IV (“twilight”) sedation with minimal recovery. Or if the patient prefers general anesthesia, blepharoplasty surgery can be performed in an outpatient surgical center or a hospital.
The surgery only takes about one to three hours and there is very little discomfort post-operatively and any incisions are virtually undetectable. Patients can expect some swelling and bruising, but after a week or less, you can resume your normal routine.

An eye lift is a straightforward procedure with dramatic results.
