Carlton Hotel Singapore (Part 2)

Last month, I published the first part of my feature post on the Carlton Hotel Singapore where I shared with you some photos of the lobby and other nice things about the ground level of the hotel. I apologize that it has taken me a while to publish the second part.

Anyway, as promised, I am sharing some more photos and information – this time, of our hotel room and the outdoor swimming pool which was the only other place in the hotel where Arra and I hung out during our weekend staycation at the Carlton Hotel Singapore.

So be warned – photo overload ahead!

And so, here we go…

The Carlton Hotel Singapore Premier Room

Big Daddy booked a Premier Room for Arra and me. The Premier Rooms are located on levels 8 to 11, are 33-34 square meters in size, and have a good view of the pool. Our reservation was inclusive of buffet breakfast for two, but in-room internet access was for an additional charge. I honestly didn’t quite understand why this was the case since on the Carlton Hotel Singapore website, you have an option to either avail of the package (which includes complimentary breakfast and internet access) or pay for “room only” (which was not what we chose). I only know that there was some kind of promo the hotel was offering at the time Big Daddy made the booking, so it might have been the terms of that particular promo deal, I don’t know.

The hallway leading to our room

This was the hallway that led to our hotel room. The walls and the carpet are quite simple in design but it looked very clean and decent.

The entryway to our Premier Room.

The bed, the work desk and the window seat.

I especially loved the pop of red in this otherwise neutral color-schemed (bordering on dull) room.

The window seat

I wasn’t a big fan of the glass curtain. It was made of some kind of stiff fabric that resembled a net.

From the window: The view of the pool

From the window: The view of the city

Regardless, the fascinating view of the pool and the city from our hotel room window certainly made the window seat alluring.

The work desk

This Herman Miller chair was ultra comfy!

Desk lamp; Phone

The work desk was loaded with the standard amenities: a phone, a desk lamp, a letterhead (stationery) set, a pen, plus a welcome message from Carlton Hotel Singapore Management.

Nespresso Coffee Machine

Next to the work desk was this Nespresso coffee machine! Perfect for getting that quick caffeine fix… while daydreaming about

George Clooney! Haha!

Phone and light switches by the bedside

Comfortably sitting on one nightstand was a phone, alongside a couple of brochures with more information about the room and the hotel.

Interesting wall frames

The closet

Inside the closet were other standard amenities: robes, hangers, an iron and ironing board, and an electronic safe.

The bathroom

The bathroom was small but it looked pristine, cozy and adequately stocked with toiletries.

The majestic throne!

Luxury Toiletries

The bath tub

The bathroom also has a separate standing rain shower area and bathtub. There was a glass partition between the shower area (right where the tub was) and the bedroom. A very close second to the Nespresso coffee machine, this feature of our Carlton Hotel Singapore Premier Room was what I loved the most because it gave me the ability to view the television while soaking in the tub – which has definitely lifted my whole R&R experience to an extremely satisfying high!

There were built-in speakers in the bathroom so turning up the volume of the television wasn’t necessary for me to hear the movie from inside the bathroom.

Bath Essentials

Another thing I particularly loved was the Molton Brown bath and shower products provided by Carlton Hotel Singapore. They were presented in a very elegant packaging and smelled so divine!

The Carlton Hotel Singapore Outdoor Pool

Aside from our room, there really wasn’t any other place within the hotel that Arra and I had the chance to enjoy except for the outdoor pool. Other than the fact that it was a very brief staycation, we were so exhausted from the previous day’s visit to Universal Studios that we weren’t up to doing much the next morning but to pretty much vegetate.

So below are some photos I took of the Carlton Hotel Singapore pool area.

This concludes my brief feature on the Carlton Hotel Singapore, friends! Short as it may have been, it was a very pleasant, comfortable and sweet experience for Arra and me.

Premier Room rates range from SGD 296.00 or PhP 10,500 (if you’re paying for the room only) to SGD 370.00 or PhP 13,100 (Best Available Rate, inclusive of buffet breakfast and internet access).

If you are on a tight budget, Carlton Hotel Singapore is currently offering a “Weekend Deal” for their Superior Rooms for only SGD 190.00 or PhP 6,700 , inclusive of buffet breakfast and internet access. This goes to show that you don’t have to break the bank just to have a really nice, relaxing hotel getaway in Singapore.

So, the next time you’re in Singapore, you might wanna consider booking your stay at this hotel.
