Urban Decay Naked 3 Eye Shadow Palette was released in November of last year. I only got mine a couple of months ago at Sephora in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia because none of the malls I came across in Phuket, Thailand had Sephora (which is one of the very few stores that carries the Urban Decay brand).

In my opinion, every woman should have in her collection at least one of the three Naked Palettes from Urban Decay. I’d even go so far as to say that if you should only have or could only afford to have one eye shadow palette in your entire collection, then it should be one of these palettes. Although each Naked palette is different – Naked 1 is all bronze-hued neutrals, Naked 2 is taupe-hued neutrals, while Naked 3 is rose-hued neutrals – I honestly don’t think it’s necessary to purchase all three, from a prudent and frugal standpoint. It would be nice to get your hands on all of them, sure, but I think that you’ll be extremely happy even with just one Naked palette. Having all the colors you could possibly need – from the palest to the boldest, from matte to shimmery – the Naked palette has it all! It’s practical. It’s convenient. It’s a no-brainer.

Before I share with you some photos of my Urban Decay Naked 3 unboxing, let’s take a look at Urban Decay’s description of this gorgeous palette:

“It’s finally here: the long-awaited follow-up Naked and Naked2 (two of the industry’s all-time bestselling palettes)! And this time around, we’re giving you a dozen NEW ways to get Naked. We loaded this palette with 12 NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN shades (and insanely beautiful) rose-hued neutrals – from pale, shimmery pink to deep black matte with rosy red micro-glitter.

Choose from every finish imaginable: ultra-smooth mattes, gorgeous pearls and glimmering metallics. From the palest, shimmery pink to deep, warm black, these neutrals will make you want to get Naked all over again. Every shade features our Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power and blendability.

Naked3 includes a NEW double-ended shadow/blending brush AND an Eyeshadow Primer Potion sampler with resealable samples of all four formulas (original, Sin, Eden and Anti-Aging). Each sample holds about a week’s worth of Primer!

Our art-school-inspired tin case is a gorgeous rose-gold color (a subtle hint at the shades inside). Embossed on top with a big “Naked3″ and cool facets that beg to be touched, it’s sure to inspire lots of jealous stares.

What You See Is What You Get: Strange (pale neutral pink matte-satin), Dust (pale metallic pink shimmer w/iridescent micro-glitter), Burnout (light pinky-peach satin), Limit (light dusty rose matte), Buzz (metallic rose shimmer w/silver micro-glitter), Trick (light metallic pinky-copper shimmer w/tonal micro-sparkle), Nooner (medium pinky-brown matte), Liar (medium metallic mauve shimmer), Factory (pinky-brown satin), Mugshot (metallic taupe shimmer w/slight pink shift), Darkside (deep taupe-mauve satin) and Blackheart (smoky black matte w/rosy red micro-sparkle).” (urbandecay.com)

Now, let’s marvel at the beauty of this baby!

The exterior packaging. I really loved the design, color and texture!

The Urban Decay Naked 3 Eye Shadow Palette comes in the same signature tin case with a hinged lid as the Naked 2 palette, also with its name embossed on the lid. The only difference is that the case is a rose-gold color and has grooves on the top and bottom surface.

The slim case will fit any purse and will make a convenient travel companion…

…especially with its own double-ended shadow/blending brush!

The flat brush

The fluffy blending brush (I love how this brush is so much more packed or dense than the brush that came with my Naked 2 palette because it gives me more control when blending the colors).

The case also comes with a mirror.

The lighter shades of the Urban Decay Naked 3.

The darker shades

Now, let’s look a the swatches (these were taken under natural day light)…

(L-R): Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick

(L-R): Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart

(Top, L-R): Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart
(Bottom, L-R): Trick, Buzz, Limit, Burnout, Dust, Strange

And this was the look that I created using the Urban Decay Naked 3 Eye Shadow Palette. I used a combination of Mugshot and Liar on the outer 2/3 of my lids, Nooner for my mid-tone/blending (applied just above the crease), Darkside on the outer corners, Blackheart on the outer corners and crease, Buzz towards the inner 1/3 of my lids, and a combination of Strange and Dust on the inner corners (around my tear ducts). I used both Darkside and Blackheart on my lower lids. I didn’t even use an eye liner for this look. I used Blackheart to line my upper and lower lash lines.

Now, time for some more selfie shots!!!

Other makeup products used: (EYES & EYEBROWS) Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Chanel Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil, Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara (FACE) Smashbox Oil-Free Primer, Shu Uemura Light Bulb Liquid Foundation, Maybelline Mineral Concealer, MAC Contour Powder in medium brown, and Smashbox Baked Starburst Fusion Soft Lights for highlights

Other makeup products used: (CHEEKS) NARS Deep Throat (LIPS) Revlon Twinkled Pink Super Lustrous Lipstick and Laura Mercier Sweetheart Lip Glace

I am absolutely in love with the Urban Decay Naked 3! The color payoff is amazing! My favorite so far has been Liar and Buzz, but I know I need to work with the other colors more to gain a better understanding on how best to use them.

Meanwhile, I definitely – strongly – recommend that you check it out (and maybe get yourself one). The Urban Decay Naked 3 Eye Shadow Palette is available for $54.00 on the Urban Decay Website, or you may get it at any Sephora or Macy’s branch near you.
