NYFW DIARY: Banana Republic with TRESemmé

One of the best things about partnering with TRESemmé during NYFW was that I got the chance to go backstage for several shows. One of my favorites was definitely the Banana Republic presentation. Even if I could afford all the Monique Luillier gowns, it’s not like I have black-tie events every week. Banana Republic is another story, the pieces were AMAZING and they are reasonably priced.

Lo mejor de trabajar junto a TRESemmé durante la Semana de la Moda en Nueva York (aparte de peinarme todos los días) fue que me invitaron a varios desfiles y detrás de bastidores. Una de mis presentaciones favoritas fue la de Banana Republic. Aunque pudiese comprar todos los vestidos de Monique Luillier, no es como si tengo eventos formales todas las semanas. En cambio Banana Republic tiene piezas relativamente "económicas" e igual de espectaculares.

Let’s start with the hairstyles… there were two hairstyles seen on the models’; (un)Done waves and a texturized low-pony.I knew I wanted to recreate the texturized low-pony as soon as I saw it. I spoke with TRESemmé lead stylist, Jeanie Syfu and she shared an easy step-by-step on how to do this hairstyle at home:

Empecemos hablando de los peinados… las modelos llevaban dos peinados: ondas suaves y una cola de caballo baja con textura. Mi favorito fue la cola de caballo y por eso corrí a preguntarle tips a la estilista principal de TRESemmé Jeanie Syfu. Ella me contó como lograr este peinado paso a paso y que productos utilizó.

• Apply TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creating Sea Foam to damp hair and begin to dry using hands. Gradually layer TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray to hair for added texture.
• When hair is almost completely dry, use round brush to finish drying the hair for volume and smooth ends.
• Using a 1-1⁄4 inch curling iron create loose waves by wrapping hair vertically around the barrel leaving ends out; continue curling strands in alternate directions until all hair is curled.
• Brush hair out using a Mason Pearson brush and lightly mist look with TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Ultra Brushable Hairspray. Shake out hair with fingers for a messy, undone texture.
• Create a center part and gather hair into a low-pony at the nape of the neck and secure with an elastic.
• Wrap hair around the base of the pony and secure with pins.

• Aplica el TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creating Sea Foam en el cabello húmedo y empeiza a secarlo utilizando tus manos. Poco a poco, agrega al cabello para darle la textura deseada.
• Cuando el cabello este casi seco; utiliza un cepillo redondo y un secador para terminar de secar el cabello…esto le da volúmen y suaviza las puntas.
• Utiliza una rizadora de una pulgada para crear ondas suaves. No rizes las puntas y varia la dirección del rizo.
• Peina el cabello para abrir las ondas y aplica TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Ultra Brushable Hairspra. Utiliza las manos para despinar el cabello un poco.
• Divide el cabello por la mitad y amárralo en una cola de caballo baja al nivel de la nuca.
• Esconda la colita/elástica con un mechón de cabello y asegúralo con horquillas.

As far as my outfit, there is only one picture outside the venue…it was snowing and it was too cold! I was wearing a burgundy leather skirt, a beige chunky sweater, and a cozy B&W coat. Like I said on my Instagram; when you live in the Sunshine State, seeing snow is MAGICAL!

De mi outfit solo compartí una fotito (la primera)…estaba lloviendo y hacía un frío horrible. Como pueden ver estaba usando una falda de cuero vino, un suéter beige y un abrigo B&W.
