Cosmic bowling is the way to roll

Today we went cosmic bowling, which I haven't done in at least ten years. If you've never been before, it's like regular bowling, except they have black lights so everything looks like it's glowing. This afternoon they even had some fun laser lights and music. Lilia went bowling once a couple of years ago for a birthday party and Franky had never been so I was excited to take him for the first time. I've never used bumpers (little things that pop up to block the gutters) when bowling before. I thought we would have to use them the whole time today, but it turns out you can program the bumpers to come up only for certain players. When Fran and I went, the bumpers when down and vice versa when it was Franky or Lilia's turn. Like magic! (Or technology) (caption id="attachment_3981" align="alignleft" width="300")
Fashion(/caption) We picked the lightest bowling ball there (6 lbs.) for Franky, but even that was pretty heavy for him. Fran and I took turns helping him roll the ball, which would slowly bounce back and forth off the bumpers on the way down the lane. One time, I let him roll the bowling ball and it was so slow, it literally stopped in the middle of the lane. We had to get a staff member to come out and get it back for us. Of course we all cheered when she did and from that point on, we really helped him roll that ball down the lane. While we were bowling, I remembered that Fran had actually spent some time on a bowling league in college. This was when we first met, so one night my friends and I purposely showed up at the same time to bowl. We also drank Bud Light sold in bottles shaped like bowling pins. How fun is that? Fran AKA former bowling superstar came in first place today, but I was a very close second. Afterward Lilia and I made a plan. Over the next six months we're going to secretly bowl to hone our skills. Then we'll casually ask the boys if they want to go bowling again and then we'll win every game. We'll be bowling sharks! It's going to happen. Just wait and see. To read more about The New Abides and our adventure to do one new thing, every day, for an entire year, please follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
