IKEA Hack: A Dresser Update

Let's face it, in a world where IKEA is stylish and affordable, it's hard to look elsewhere for furniture and other home decor. The only thing stopping us from stockpiling on budget items is the fear of looking the same as everyone else - which is where this handy little hack comes in...

The IKEA Hemnes range is just beautiful; the chest of drawers hold our belongings neatly, and the simple monochrome finish goes with every room.
The only issue is that the drawers often look rather same-sy - they're instantly recognisable as an IKEA purchase. While this isn't a bad thing, sometimes you just want your own touch on your home.

This is a super easy way to update your furniture, and it works for just about anything; charity shop finds, your current bedside tables, sideboards - any item with handles could do with a quick update, and you can choose a unique design for each piece.

We purchased these pretty handles from eBay, they're a bargain at £1.89 each and there's almost too many designs to choose from - so you can mix and match to suit your decor.
It wasn't hard to remove the old handles using a screwdriver, and place the new ones on with a multi-use spanner.
The end result is unique and it gives the typical IKEA look an affordable update that even the most anti-DIYers can get behind.

Have you considered changing up your handles for another design?
