PR Twitter Tips: October 2014

It’s hard to believe we’re already six days in – but Happy November! October was quite a busy month – with the Hunt, Octoberfest, my birthday and Halloween I’m sad to see it go. Below are some of our favorite #PR101 Twitter Tips from the month of October. Thanks to all that tweeted.

@jennyrjohnson: How to Diffuse Exposure of a Dirty Secret: get ahead of the story, admit you messed up and ‘humanize’ yourself.

@mmbehar: Co-worker just said, “The only ‘no’ we say is ‘no problem.'” How accurate.

@prsocialista: Stop relating PR to Sex and the City. The real life PR girl requires more hard work and less glamour.

@relevebyallyn: “Ask yourself – if I scrolled past this in my inbox, would I stop and look at it?” -@shayna19

@richmondsajini: What I lack in experience, I more than make up for with creativity and hard work.

@SymonePR: It is very important to not take for granted that content has to engage your audience.

@karliebeiko: Just because you can use social media, doesn’t mean you should.

@allyn_lewis: Before asking a question ALWAYS think, “is there somewhere I could find the answer to this on my own first?”

@Claudia_doesPR: My number one saying is: PR starts when you walk out the door.

@PawsPR: Less is more. Keep press releases to one page.

@SDGreenall: Good PR is not always about saying ‘Yes’. It’s just as important to be able to say ‘No’.
