Feel London at Nike 1948

Nike’s 1948 store beneath the arches in Shoreditch is undoubtedly one of the coolest stores in London, as well as selling the best of Nike, it has hosted art exhibitions, screen printing workshops and light installations. From this weekend inspired by the Nike Free Hyperfeel they’re putting on talks, workshops and workouts around the art and science of feeling.

Workshop participants will be able to cast their own foot castings, create textural ‘skin’ fabrics, press their own vinyl and explore the broadcasting of movement using rapid development tools. All sounds very tech, in a very good way. Take a look at the full schedule and book your place on the 1948 London site, all sessions are free to attend but booking is required.

Throughout the 10 days of events there will be an exhibition held at 1948 featuring 4 interactive installations, all of which sounding like they need to be seen to be believed by my favourite description of the 4 is Universal Eveything’s interactive arrangement of flowing threads responding to the human form fitting the silhouette of the visitor.

To top it all off on the 17th October the 1948 site will stream a live online broadcast from 1948 featuring (among others) Associate Artists of the English National Ballet, the London Contemporary Orchestra and Run Dem Crew. Viewers will interact with and influence the performances by tweeting shout outs and commands.

All this kicks off this weekend, visit the site for more info: http://www.1948london.com/
