Wearing Dresses on Snow Days

It’s a ridiculous idea, isn’t it? It’s just snowed, it’s freezing outside.. who wants to wear a dress?! I’ll be honest- I actually prefer wearing a dress with tights in the fall/winter simply because I am, more often than not, uncomfortable in a dress in summer. We’ve all read the nightmare stories in Cosmo about girls walking around with their dresses tucked in the underwear (how does that even happen?), or their bag slowly riding up their dress until their butt is showing and they have no idea until someone hollers at them. Because of things like this, I am constantly worrying about what my situation is while I’m wearing a dress. Has it ridden up? Is it blowing in the wind and flashing everyone my underwear? Is it too short? Is my slip showing (I wish I didn’t have to worry about this because I feel like slips are for the “olden days”, but everyone makes their dresses so damn see-through these days)?

Instead, I generally opt for shorts in summer. I love not having to worry about what I’m wearing (the same reason I also rarely wear heels). Comfort is one hundred percent key. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE dresses and I do wear them in summer, just not as often as others probably do. With all that being said, wearing a dress with tights in fall and winter is totally my jam. Every single problem I listed above is long gone when you add a pair of black tights or leggings into the equation. They’re warm (especially those leggings that have fleece linings, heck yes!) and my butt definitely isn’t going to show. So no, it’s not a totally ridiculous idea. It’s a totally awesome idea. Totally.

dress (sold out, but I LOVE this and this) | tights | boots | bag (style is sold out, similar) | leather jacket (similar) | scarf

Have you ever had one of those Cosmo-worthy dress mishap moments happen to you?
