I’m pretty sure that by now, you have heard of or know what Fifty Shades of Grey is. The books have been around for quite a while now and the movie is set to release on February 13, 2015. I’ve read the books, but I’m not so sure I’ll be running to the theatre to see it. If it’s anything like the books (which, duh, of course it will be), that’s not exactly something I’m wanting to watch in the presence a bunch of strangers because awwwwwkward, hahaha.

One of my favorite makeup brands, MAKE UP FOR EVER, has just come out with three Fifty Shades of Grey inspired kits and let me tell you, they are GORGEOUS. I’ve tried out and am in love with the Give In To Me kit, which is inspired by the main character Ana. In the books, Ana is a bit of a plain jane who, as she gets more involved with Christian Grey, begins to up the ante a bit with her look. This kit was inspired by her look in the movie which is natural, sultry and sophisticated. Sounds pretty good to me! It comes with an eye shadow palette, a felt tip liner (which I LOVE, more on that later), a mascara, a lipstick and a gloss. It also has such appropriate packaging- around the edges of the case are Fifty Shades of Grey quotes and phrases, and inside there is a “door” with a key in it, which you’d recognize if you’ve read the books. It’s pretty awesome!

Let’s start with eyes, and then we’ll move onto the lip products (my fave!). The eyeshadow palette included has four different shades, and they are just beautiful. They have great pigmentation, they’re super smooth and they are such universal colors that a) would look good on anyone and b) can be used for both day and night looks. The top right is my very favorite, as it’s a little bit coppery and is unlike the shadows I usually wear.

Swatches from left to right: Pink Ivory (I-514), Silver Brown (ME-612), Taupe Grey (S-556), Reptile (I-628)

Also included in the kit is MAKE UP FOR EVER’s new graphic liner. I actually got this about a month ago, and I’ve been using it pretty much every day since then because it is SO easy to use and makes such a clean line. I’ve tried several felt tip liners, which happen to be my favorite tip of eyeliner, and this is literally the only one that hasn’t made my eczema flare up (I don’t know what it is with felt tip liners, but they always hurt my eyelids!). I’m just happy I can pause the hunt on the perfect liner because this absolutely does it for me. I highly recommend it if you want that liquid liner look without the mess!

Last for eyes in this kit is the Smoky Extravagant mascara. I’ve used this mascara several times before, as I got a deluxe sample of it from Sephora on my last birthday! I really like this mascara for when I am doing a super full lash look. I mean, I’m always going for lots of lashes, but this one is particularly good at getting to every. single. little. lash. as it has a tapered wand, so you can get all up in the inner lashes without risking getting mascara where mascara shouldn’t be.

Onto lips! In the kit was a Rouge Artist Natural lipstick in the shade Pink Beige (N4). I’ve been getting more into wearing natural colored lipsticks lately- you know, YLBB (your lips but better)- and when I saw the color of this lipstick I was really excited to see how it looked on me. Turns out, it is perfeeeeect for me. Seriously perfect. Like, I can wear this every single day and not get sick of it perfect. I really love the color! It’s a teeny bit pink, a teeny bit peach, but not too much of either. Just perfect. The lipstick goes on super smooth, wears really nicely and doesn’t dry out my lips. Also, the combination of this lipstick and the gloss in the kit is a match made in heaven. You’ll see it in action in my upcoming Valentine’s Day makeup tutorial post using this kit!

Last, but certainly not least, is the prettiest lipgloss I own (no lies, I swear). It’s the Lab Shine Lip Gloss in Shimmering Indian Pink (D14). I’m not a huge lipgloss wearer for the most part, but I can’t get over how pretty this one is so I have definitely made an exception. Plus, it pairs fantastically with the YLBB lipstick! It’s a sheer neutral pink with a champagney gold shimmer to it, it smells really good AND it’s surprisingly not nearly as sticky as I usually find lipgloss to be. I’m pretty sold on the MAKE UP FOR EVER glosses after this, to be honest.

Overall, I really, REALLY love this kit (if you couldn’t tell already). I seriously don’t have a bad thing to say about any of the products included. I even like the case it comes in! In fact, all it’s done is made me want to go to Sephora right now to buy the other two kits- the Tease Me lip set (I’d definitely choose the ‘Passionate’ set, those berry colors are amazing!) and the Desire Me cheek set (hello, I’m a blush hoarder… obviously I need this). The Give In To Me kit retails for $79 at Sephora and is worth every penny. It would actually make a great starter kit for someone who is looking to get more into makeup as the shades are so neutral and gorgeous, and it includes everything for a gorgeous eyes and lips look! Speaking of which, I had a little fun with this kit the other day and came up with a Valentine’s Day makeup look that I’ll be sharing very soon, so keep an eye out. ;)

Are you planning to try any of the new Fifty Shades of Grey inspired kits?
