Zuhair Murad Spring 2015 Haute Couture

Nature but not as you know. That was what the audience were treated to from Zuhair Murad‘s Spring Couture collection. The designer’s focus seemed to be within movement, and water in particular. Every gown had a story, from the aqua blue frothy tiered ball gown to the slinky nude number, dripping with beads and embellishments.

Murad pulled out his usual brilliant, skilful stunts; embroidery, pleating, drapery, plunges and slits but every item felt different, dazzling. The range of styles was incredible, every variable covered – short party frock with long sleeves, sleeveless floor-length dress, smart peplum in glossy white. The materials and composition seemed fresh, especially the edges of organza and tulle restrained beneath nonchalant silk. The pastel Spring colour palette fell into stride with the liquid flow of the collection.

The whole collection had red-carpet written all over it. The plunging halter swimsuit crystal-encrusted bodice oozed J-Lo, while the grand beige gown, a tidal wave of material covered in china blue flowers, whispered English beauty, classic Rose with a twist. We can’t wait to catch these masterpieces again, hopefully shrouded in camera flashes.
