Body, Mind and Spirit Connection

Nowadays we often hear and read the words yoga-pilates fusion. The idea of these two mind and body exercises are very popular as more people are learning and adapting to the new lifestyle of wellness and wellbeing. Physiotherapist Rebecca ‘Rajani’ Fagan, guides students with practices that are a combination of yoga, pilates and meditation.

Yoga brings the body and mind together and is built on three main structures – exercise, breathing and meditation. Yoga and pilates improve the body’s balance, strength and flexibility while meditation will keep the mind, body and spirit centered to the feeling of well-being. Combining these three practices can lead a person into a state of relaxation, calmness and gratitude.

Wellbeing benefits included in this retreat is daily practice of yoga ‘nidra’ relaxation. Yoga nidra, can have major physical, psychological and spiritual benefits. Yoga nidra comes from the Indian yoga tradition. The technique could be described as a lying down form of meditation that uses the whole body as a focus of awareness. Yoga nidra play an important role in preparing the body and mind to a meditative state as a result to achieve the body, mind and spirit connection.
