She done good!

I'm gonna toot my girl's horn today. This morning, after 2 1/2 years of working hard at her job, stashing her money away, forgoing many o' Starbucks and pedicures, my girl bought herself a car! And we couldn't be prouder that she was able to set a goal, work really hard for it and do it 2 1/2 years later! We live in an affluent part of the country. Kids, Livy's friends and classmates, are given really nice new cars on their 16th and 17th birthdays as a matter of course. Truth be told, I was given a car around the same age. It was a Volkswagen too, yet it was far from new. But my girl has taken a different path for her first car. She bought it herself!

Livy, I know you're caught up in being giddy about your it's-all-yours car. But I want you to know that this is a big deal to your papa and me. It's kinda huge! You did it! You set your mind to something and saved and you did it! We know that there were weekends you didn't want to work and it wasn't so easy. Doing something that's hard, for a long period of time.. well it's a big ol' deal of an accomplishment! Baby, you're gonna rock the world with that skill set! Luv, Your very proud Mama
