Help! How Do I Get Rid of Moths??

Has anyone ever had clothing moths in their house? I’ve recently discovered them in my closet in my bedroom. I pulled out a shirt I hadn’t worn in awhile only to discover it had little holes that looked like Swiss cheese!

I called our exterminator, apparently they don’t cover moth treatment because you can’t really spray for moths. He also recommended not using moth balls because they do little to help with an existing problem and are seriously toxic . Our moths are teeny tiny champagne colored moths (not the one picture above), which are likely clothing moths not pantry moths. I guess that explains the holes in my shirt!

He did give me a few moth traps and told me to put them around. He also recommended that I remove everything from the closet and wash it in hot water or have it dry-cleaned! Oi! Everything is out of the closet and I’m doing TONS of laundry.

So my question to you is have you ever had moths in your closet and how did you get rid of them? I’m getting the creepy crawlies just thinking about them!
