Me voilà de retour après un périple de deux semaines à Tokyo, où je suis partie à nouveau grâce à Marie-Claire, pour shooter un édito avec Diane Von Furstenberg pour le magazine, et faire une apparition en live dans l’émission Zip!, pour laquelle nous tournons régulièrement des reportages à travers le monde, depuis presque trois ans déjà ! Il semblerait que depuis ce début d’année, je sois souvent sur la route grâce à Marie-Claire, avant Tokyo, c’était Londres, et après Tokyo, ce sera peut-être New-York, et peut-être encore Tokyo ! Et je ne pourrais pas être plus excitée par cette vie, cela peut sembler bizarre mais je ne me sens jamais aussi bien que seule et très très loin de Paris, car ça me permet de prendre plus de distance, de recul, d’être apaisée. A Paris, mes vieux démons me reprennent..C’est pour cette raison que j’aime beaucoup Elizabeth d’Autriche, car je me reconnais à 300% dans sa fièvre de voyages (les allemands ont un très joli mot pour définir cette impulsion, le Wanderlust), elle ne trouvait l’apaisement qu’en parcourant inlassablement le monde…J’ai l’immense chance d’avoir trouvé une voie qui me permet de faire de ce rêve une réalité, et d’adopter ce mode de vie quelque peu nomade, même s’il m’isole forcément. La solitude ne me gêne pas, au contraire ! J’aime les contrastes, à Paris une vie très remplie à Paris et beaucoup de fêtes, à l’étranger la sérénité de l’introspection. Je ne sais pas trop où va me mener cette vie parallèle que je mène à coté du blog et dont je ne parle que très peu ici, mais plus les années passent, plus elle se dessine clairement…Qui vivra verra !

Here I am in Paris again after two wonderful weeks in Tokyo, where I have travelled thanks to Marie-Claire, in order to shoot a fashion story with DVF for the magazine, and to appear live in the morning show Zip!, for which we are shooting reports all around the world, and for almost three years now ! It seems that I am very often on the road this new year, and it’s all thanks to Marie-Claire, before Tokyo I was in London, and after Tokyo maybe New-York, and Tokyo again ! I couldn’t be more excited about this life, it might seem weird but I never feel as good as when I’m very far away from Paris, it gives me more distance, and I feel very soothed. In Paris, I am always very anxious and sometimes depressed. This is why I understand so much Elizabeth of Austria (Sissi), because I totally recognize myself in her constant travelling envy (the germans have a lovely word to define it, the Wanderlust), she only found peacefulness when she was away, trvalling all the time all around the world…I have the enormous luck of having found a path that lets me make this dream a reality, and gives me that nomadic life that I need, even though it isolates me a bit. I don’t mind being alone, quite the opposite actually ! I love contrasts, in Paris a very busy life with a lot of partying, abroad the serenity of introspection. I don’t know yet where this parallel life will lead me, but as the years go by, it becomes more and more important…Well, time will tell me !

A propos de voyage et de Jugendstil, voici quelques photos prises à Vienne lors d’une petite après-midi de tourisme ! Cette esthétique début de siècle me passionne, la ville devait être fabuleuse au temps de Klimt, Schiele, Gustav et Alma Malher, Kokoschka…Comme je vous le dit plus haut, je suis une grande fan d’Elizabeth d’Autriche, très touchée par sa mélancolie, son Wanderlust, sa personnalité intense et violente, ses excentricités, quel personnage ! D’ailleurs, je vous conseille la biographie de Jean des Cars, elle est très bien. Pour revenir à Vienne, j’ai visité cette ville pour la première fois avec ma mère il y a a dix ans et j’en suis tombée follement amoureuse…Et vous ?

About travelling and Jugendstil, here are some pictures that I took in Vienna on a lovely touristic afternoon ! I visited the city for the first time with my mother ten years ago, and fell madly in love with it…I’m really into that early XXth century aesthetic, I think about how great the city must have been at that time with Klimt, Schiele, Kokoschka, Gustav and Alma Malher…As I said above, I’m a big fan of Sissi, very touched by her melancholy, her Wanderlust, her intense and violent personnality, what a character ! There is a great biography of her written by french historian Jean des Cars, it’s really interesting. If you have other books to advice me, don’t hesitate !
