golden hour in central park.

I know, the last place these photos look like they were taken is New York City, but I swear, we were there! I'll be back next week with more urbanesque photos, but I thought I'd share a few that we took on our very last night in the city, at the Boathouse cafe in Central Park.

I'm so rarely in a place with an actual view of the sun, with my camera handy, during that golden hour of light when the sun starts to dip in the sky. We were enjoying a couple of drinks, facing this pretty little pond, watching the light dip and dance on the surface. I'm so happy I got these, because they perfectly capture a little moment in time that I'd really like to hold on to. Sitting by the water's edge, an oasis in this massive, beautiful tapestry of a city. Feeling the first truly chilly breeze of fall roll through. Talking about our dreams for the future. Some for a year down the road. Some unmarked by time. Nearing the end of a vacation that we both wanted to go on forever.

These pictures could have been taken in Virginia. It looks like Virginia. I think that's what I love about them. They capture this feeling of warmth and home and comfort. We'd both love to live in New York someday. It's comforting to know that we'll have that golden light wherever we go.

Have a wonderful weekend :)
