This Heroic Russian Cat Saved an Abandoned Baby From Freezing in the Streets

Some heroes wear capes, but this one has whiskers and a fluffy tail. Masha, a neighborhood cat in Obninsk, Russia, saved an abandoned baby's life . . . from keeping the infant warm to alerting a human of its predicament, Masha's remarkable actions are enough to turn anybody into a "cat person." The baby, who had been left in a cardboard box during the midst of Russia's freezing Winter, has been declared healthy - thanks entirely to Masha, reports the New York Post.

Because the cat cuddled with the baby for hours and meowed loudly to get attention, the deserted infant was able to avoid permanent damage from the snow until authorities rushed it to the hospital. "Everyone in the block is very proud of her," a local resident said of Masha. "We have all spoiled her rotten by giving her her favorite food." She deserves it, too! There is no amount of kibble that will ever properly repay Masha for her purrr-fectly heroic actions.
