How to Clean a Microwave

First off, there are many different ways you can clean your microwave, but I really like this easy version. Not only is it quick and easy, but it will leave your microwave smelling fresh and clean.

Before I entered the world of essential oils, I would still steam clean my microwave with a lemon cut in half. Now that I have essential oils on hand, I use this super easy technique and it works every time.

Here is my cleaning method:

Place the 2 Tbsp water on the dish and place into the microwave.

Add the lemon essential oil.

Close your microwave door and turn on high power for 1 minute. This will effectively steam up the inside of the microwave.

Open the microwave and place your sponge on top of the water and allow it to soak into the sponge.

Then take your sponge and clean the inside of the microwave. You can also use it to clean the outside of your microwave if needed.

I love this method! It’s super easy to do and it works like a charm. Lemon is a natural and powerful degreaser, and you will be amazed at how quick and easy this method is.

Now you know how to steam clean a microwave!
