Cambridge in the sun

Pictured: The backs of King's College, Cambridge Art and Craft Market, Trinity College entrance.

I feel incredibly lucky to call Cambridge my hometown. Even when I move away, nothing compares and when I visit I get an overwhelming feeling of 'this is home'. It's where a lot of my friends still live and where I hold precious memories. I've been living in Cambridge for a few months now while I look for a place in London, and I was fortunate to experience it in all its glory last weekend when the sun was shining.

For me, there is no better place to be when the sun comes out. People laze around the back of the colleges (in particular, around the back of King's College as pictured above) with a few beers and a picnic and everything seems so relaxed. I find some cities such as London to be stifling in the heat, but in Cambridge everything comes into bloom. Also, you can go punting along The River Cam and take in the beauty of the colleges, which also serves as a source of entertainment for the locals as some unfortunates topple in.

Have you visited Cambridge? Do you enjoy your hometown in the summer?
