Get Back Up On It

Last night was an emotional roller coaster in our house. My 'baby' brother has been pursuing his musical dream since he was five years old, and last night we were rooting that this special night would be his spring board forward.

** I can't reveal too much details right now due to confidentiality agreements but I will share all in January!**

He's made us all so incredibly proud already which goes without saying! But last night was when I got to see his real spirit shine through. And it sparkled. Big time!

Things didn't go quite the way that we thought. What about all the visualisations, meditations, and all the dreaming and scheming?!

This got me thinking. Where did he going wrong? How could this not have happened for him?! And for a moment I had the greatest sway in my beliefs.

Then it hit me.

This was the course. This was how it is meant to be. There were lessons to be learnt here. But this realisation didn't really help quell the feelings of disappointment, hurt, fustration, and sadness.

When I met him afterwards, we had a moment alone together and giving him the biggest sisterly hug that I could, he whispered in my ear "I'm not going to cry, I am bigger that this. Somethings are not meant to be, somethings are meant to be bigger".

You guessed it. Goosebumps galore!

When we're chasing dreams and they come so close that we can almost taste them, having the slip from your grasp is a true test of moxie, determination, passion, and drive.

It's almost like the Universe is asking you, "How much do you want this?".

If you too are chasing big, bold, and beautiful dreams that give you shivers from head to toe please do not stop.

Don't take the sets backs and the times that you may stumble as signs that something is not for you. Those challenges are your lessons and learning curves.

They will hurt. That is guaranteed. But when the pain subsides and you feel your heart beat quicker, and the hunger in your belly returns ask yourself "What did I learn from this?".

Trying and failing is not failure. Trying and failing, and having the guts to stand back up and dust yourself off is the epitome of success.

I can't wait to see where this road takes my brother. Things always work out the way that they are meant too.

Stay open. Stay focused. Keep believing. And your dreams will come true.

Love,
