The Love Bomb Series

This week. Man oh man where do I start?!

It's been one of those weeks where you're caught up in creative tail-spins, blown away by connections and music, and just to keep things grounded, we can throw in a nice test and challenge from the Uni~verse.

This week has taught me that everything in my life is moving forward. Everything is pointing in the direction of my future, and things are going to happen and unfold regardless of my participation or not. Even if I choose not to actively take part in the outcomes, life will go on. Ipso facto.

Here lies the beautiful, honest realisation. I can create. I grab life by the (proverbial) balls and declare 'THIS is what I want!', or I can play blind ignorance and just 'accept' what comes my way. One thing I know is that when I opt for this option I don't feel as happy, fulfilled, or in control as when I'm in the creative driving seat.

This past week has been a wake up call. It has been an opportunity to get off the fence and to quit putting up with things because I'm tired or down beat. I was meditating one afternoon after a particularly stressful day when my head and heart decided to do a collaborative union (which doesn't always happen often) and I had the light bulb moment - Put Up, or Get Up.

On the darkest of days// months // or even years, it's so important that we pick ourselves up and go forward. It's so important that we don't settle. It's so important that we charge on forward even if our bellies rumble with fear and anxiety. Having the courage to change something which does not serve you is the highest level of respect you can have for yourself.

Go forward this week darling with hope, bravery and courage to live the life you've imagined.
What area(s) of your life are not serving you and how you would like to actively change them?

Ok. Phew that was a biggie. Let's delve on into the things that have been lighting up my life this week shall we?

Body Gossip

This week some of the Year 8 students I teach were treated to a Values Day. It involved a series of workshops, guest speakers, energetic performances, and incredible people truly living on purpose. One of my favourite talks of the day was by the stunning Natasha Devon, co-founder and creative force behind Body Gossip.
This incredible organisation is fighting back against the ongoing media message of what it means to be 'perfect', and helping young people to love and accept themselves just as they are. I absolutely loved Natasha's open and honest discussion about the misconceptions of body image and how we punish ourselves based on the stories we feed ourselves.

It a strong, bold, and impression mission that these ladies are advocating. I've gained some new She-ros for inspiration and motivation.
This video almost had me in tears because I could identify with so many of the negative messages I've told myself over the years about my body and the bad relationship with food that I had developed. Definitely check it out!
