Makeup Wars Go To Makeup Look!
This week our Makeup Wars bloggers are discussing our go-to makeup products and looks. My quick, easy causal/weekend look is very simple.
I start with a lightweight foundation–I’ve been loving the new bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Foundation (reviewed here). For a little more coverage, I like Laura Mercier Smooth Fluide Foundation ((reviewed here).
Next is a natural flush on the cheeks. My two fav blushes for everyday are Japonesque Velvet Touch Blush #3 ((reviewed here), a pretty coral and Buxom True Hue blush in Temptation, a soft pink.
For the eyes, the quickest, easiest way to go is with an eye shadow stick. My favorites are Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Sticks and Mally Eye Shadow Sticks. The two colors I reach for most often are a champagne beige and taupe. Mally’s Champagne and Saddle Shimmer are perfect for a neutral look with some shimmer. Laura Mercier Rose Gold and Sand Glow (reviewed here).are perfect for every day. Grey Pearl is also really pretty, it’s a mauve taupe. I normally use a matte beige or off white powder eye shadow to highlight the brow bone. Since my look is mostly neutral, I like to punch it up with a pretty colored eyeliner. I recently tried these two from Ardency Inn: Jade and True Blue. Ardency Inn Modster Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliners ($19) are soft and creamy, do not tug on older eyes and are super easy to blend. These babies last for-evah! I took a shower after I swatched them and they were still on! I had to use a heavy duty eye makeup remover.
This swatch has Valentine, a new Ardency Inn lipstick I will review at a later date. The mascaras I reach for the most are either L’Oreal Butterfly (reviewed here), bareMinerals Lash Domination (pictured here) or Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant.
For lips, I love the look and staying power of NYX Butter Glosses. I just bought four more on the recent Ulta buy one get half price sale.
