Life | Into the Looking Glass

A Q&A. Like we used to do in the good old blogging days… Before we stopped oversharing and started filtering what we actually wanted the world to know about us. Honestly, this was a difficult one – not only because it challenged the limits of what I usually share on the net but also because it forced me into some introspection… But it seems I can never say no to Dancing Branflakes, so here goes…

4.// Tell us something we don't know about you.
Mmmh, how about...

I do work out. A bit.
I used to teach ashtanga yoga, but these days my daily routine consists of 15 minutes jumping around. It's as much yoga as I still enjoy doing and it wakes me up in the morning.

Weird food habits.
I don't like hot food and mainly live of self-baked sour dough bread, vegetables from the garden, self-made ice-cream and my man's sushi (yes, I'm lucky with him).

The travelling past
We celebrated my 6th birthday for 2 days because my family and I were flying over the dateline from Australia to the US that day. This was in the 70s and I happily called myself a frequent flyer child.

My Origins
I'm named after my dad's research topic – the bee ('Bine', as my friends and family call me being the German expression for bee) – which I always thought was kind of cool as my dad is a brilliant scientist and I'm in awe of his work.

5.// What's your favourite beauty secret or product?
Davi's Le Grand Cru face cream was the nicest cream I ever had – but it's rather over my budget. On a daily basis I trust in organic argan oil and Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula.

7.// What's a personal trial you had to overcome?
I trained as a physio therapist and when I started school I was a single mum. Going to school, working in hospitals, studying in the evenings and taking care of a baby was tough. I couldn't have managed without my family, especially my mum who was absolutely amazing and selfless in her support to get me through my education.

9.// What's the coolest thing you've made? (food, craft, anything)
Can I say "Sarah"? I guess not, as children are not really made – they are conceived and then we can only help them to come into their own… Perhaps the anatomical knitdress? That was quite an inspired moment; I don't think I could ever replicate it on the knitting machine.

10.// Who or what inspires you?
Anything, everything... and on some days nothing. Inspiration is a weird thing, a passive-active listening and watching, taking things in and digesting them… And then jumping into motion, pouring it all out through whichever channel you choose.

11.// Share one of your favourite pics. Tell us why it's your favourite.

I can’t quite explain it, but this picture is very special to me. It came to me through a cinema flyer in Paris and now it hangs in our bed room. I have no idea who the artist is, but it represents love, peace and devotion to me - plus I think it's just a beautiful picture.

I've chosen the same questions as Tiffany, but the quiz contains more… I'm not going to pick anyone, but if you feel the call – go for it. It's fun, actually. ♥

Here some more questions to ponder over:
1.// What is one of your silly quirks? Or something silly that you get excited about.
2.// Favourite movie, song, or tv show?
3.// Any funny stories to share that has happened recently?
4.// Tell us something we don't know about you.
6.// What's your favorite or go-to outfit? (pics please)
8.// What's a current dream that you are hoping to achieve?
12.// What's your favourite part about marriage? Or what have you learned since becoming married?
