Romance movies, for the most part, are and always have been exclusive and full of stereotypes. Why can't there be a love story about a black girl who loves alternative-indie music and bonds with a black, hispanic or indian guy (or a combination of all three) that likes the same music and they travel through the night to secret concerts? Or a story about a Lumbee guy who falls in love with a girl, but has to transform into a superhero to beat off all of her exes? One day, I started to question why such movies don't exist and decided to start Quirky, Brown Love: a movement that will let us write out own love stories, even if the filmmakers never do.
