Zoals jullie misschien inmiddels wel weten ben ik aan een heftige kuur genaamd roaccutane om mij van mijn acné af te helpen wat al aardig zijn vruchten af begint te werpen. Een bijwerking van deze kuur is helaas ook een droge huid en dat kan ik goed merken. Vooral mijn neus is vaak extreem droog (als ik wakker word zitten er vaak schilfertjes op) en ook op het gebied onder mijn ogen/naast mijn neus is het erg droog. Ik vertelde jullie al eerder over mijn nieuwe holy grail Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream (lees hier) welke mijn droge plekjes weer zacht maakt. Echter gebruikte ik tot voor kort nog steeds mijn MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation (lees review hier), welke fantastisch is voor de vette/gecombineerde huid, maar een ramp voor de droge huid. Deze foundation maakt mijn huid nu alleen nog maar schilferiger en ligt heel vreemd op mijn huid. Op advies van beauty guru An (@makeupbyan op instagram) kocht ik de Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation en daar heb ik geen spijt van gehad!

Om eerlijk te zijn was ik aanvankelijk bang dat een voedende foundation als deze weinig dekking zou bieden, maar dat is totaal niet het geval. Deze foundation geeft zoals je op de foto’s ziet een medium tot opbouwbare hoge dekking. Hier ben ik ontzettend blij mee, aangezien ik veel rode vlekjes en hier en daar een puistje heb die ik graag wil bedekken. Dat doet deze foundation dus prima! Ook was ik bang dat mijn gezicht als een gek zou gaan glimmen van zo’n vochtinbrengende foundation, maar totaal niet! Mijn gezicht ziet er zelfs mat uit na het aanbrengen, waarschijnlijk omdat mijn huid alle vochtinbrengende bestandsdelen meteen opslokt. Misschien dat ie er bij iemand met een minder droge huid meer dewy uitziet. Mijn huid ziet er na het aanbrengen van deze foundation totaal niet schilferig uit, zelfs op mijn neus zijn geen schilfers te bekennen. Overigens lijkt mijn huid in de before foto’s misschien een beetje vettig, maar dat komt door de Eight Hour Cream en primer die ik daar al op heb. Een ander groot voordeel van Bobbi Brown foundations in het algemeen is de ruime kleurkeuze waarbij ook aan de extreem lichte huidjes is gedacht, zo draag ik zelf de kleur 0 porcelain. Er is helaas minder gedacht aan de hele donkere huidjes. Een ander pluspunt is het feit dat deze foundation SPF 15 bevat, dat is niet heel hoog, maar biedt wel een beetje bescherming.

Ik ben dus onwijs blij met deze foundation en kan deze iedereen met een droge huid aanraden. Een minpunt vind ik echter de verpakking: Het grote gapende gat waar je je foundation netjes uit moet zien te krijgen. Mij lukt dit prima (check eerder genoemd filmpje om te zien hoe ik dat doe), maar een pompje blijft handiger en hygiënischer. Mijn hiervoor o zo geliefde MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation heeft overigens ook zo’n groot gapend gat, maar voor vijf euro kan je er een herbruikbaar pompje bij kopen.

De Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation is verkrijgbaar bij Douglas voor €43,50. Nee, dat is niet goedkoop, maar het is de prijs wat mij betreft dubbel en dwars waard. Overigens zag ik dat je bij besteding vanaf €60,- bij Douglas nu gratis Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream (7 ml) krijgt.

- een uitkomst voor personen met een droge huid
- ook geschikt voor de extreem lichte huidjes

Nadelen
- onhandige en niet hygiënische verpakking: groot gapend gat
- misschien te glimmend op een vette huid

- niet geschikt voor de heel donkere huidjes

In my newest video about the best toold for a high coverage foundation application (watch the video here) I used the Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation and I briefly mentioned the advantages, today I’m going to review it more in depth.

Like you might already know by now I’m on a heavy treatment called roaccutane to get rid of my acne which already starts working. A side-effect of this treatment unfortunately is dry skin and I really notice that on myself. Especially my nose gets extremely dry (when I wake up it’s often covered with flakes) and also the area underneath my eyes/around my nose is very dry. I already told you about my new holy grail Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream (read here) which makes my dry patches soft again. Until just recently I still used my MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation (read review here) though, which is incredible for oily/combined skin, but a disaster for dry skin. Now all this foundation does is making my face even more flaky. Adviced by beauty guru An (@makeupbyan on instagram) I bought the Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation and I didn’t regret it for a second!

To be honest I was afraid a moisturizing foundation like this would offer little coverage, but that’s not true at all. Like you can see on the photos this foundation offers a medium till buildable high coverage. I really like that about this foundation, since I have quite a lot of blemishes and some pimples which I would like to cover. This foundation does the job! I was also afraid my face might get shiny like a disco ball when I’d wear this foundation, but that’s not the case at all! My face even looks matte after applying, probably because my skin soaks up all the hydrating ingredients. It might look dewy on a less dry skin. After applying this foundation my skin doesn’t look flaky at all, you can’t even spot any flakes on my nose. My skin might look a bit oily on the before photos by the way, but that’s because of the Eight Hour Cream and primer I already applied. Another big advantage of Bobbi Brown foundations in general is the broad choice of colors. Even the most fair skinned girls should be able to find a matching color. I wear 0 porcelain. Unfortunately very dark skinned girls might not be able to find a matching color. Another plys is the fact that this foundation contains SPF 15, which isn’t high, but does give a bit of protection.

So I’m very satisfied with this foundation and can totally recommend it to everybody with a dry skin. A disadvantage is the packaging though: The wide open hole. I manage to get the foundation out quite decently (check this video to see how I do it), but a pump would be easier and more hygienic. MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation also has such a wide open hole, but for five euros you can buy a reusable pump.

The Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation is available at Douglas for €43,50. No, that’s not cheap, but I don’t mind paying it for a good product.
